Cold Stress Training
The goal of the course is to create awareness among employees of the hazards inherent to working in cold environments. Additionally the course identifies the nature, symptoms and treatment of cold stresses and the precautions employees should take to protect themselves. Although this lesson describes instances of immersion hypothermia (cold water exposure), it does not contain information on water rescue procedures.
Upon successful completion of this course, you should have a better understanding of:
- How to identify hazards that can result from working in cold environments including physical signs, symptoms, and treatments.
- Ways to protect against cold stresses including observing environmental protections, undertaking other preparations and practices, and dressing appropriately.

Testing conducted throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
Upon successful completion of this online course, a certificate of completion will be available for download and printing.
