Fire Watch Training
A Fire Watch is a designated individual responsible for protecting everyone on a worksite from fires. Such individuals are often deployed to supervise Hot Work or any tasks that produces heat, sparks, or flames. Serving as a Fire Watch requires knowledge about how fires are produced, how they can be prevented, and what procedures should be enacted to reduce the impacts of a fire on a worksite.
This Fire Watch awareness course will be presented in four chapters:
- Chapter 1: The Basics of Being a Fire Watch
- Chapter 2: Components of a Fire
- Chapter 3: Devices and Equipment
- Chapter 4: Fire Procedures
Upon completion, you will be presented with a final exam to test your knowledge.
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- Outline the roles and responsibilities of a Fire Watch
- Explain how fires are produced
- Identify the common types of fires
- Describe the different types of fire extinguishers
- Describe the basics of a fire response
Approximately 60 minutes
A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion for this online Fire Watch Awareness course. Participants are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
Upon successful completion of this online course, a certificate of completion will be available for download and printing.
