Safe and Smart New Driver Training Program: Defensive Driving: Communication

This course is designed to help CMV drivers learn the skills required to communicate successfully with other drivers.

After completing this course, learners will be able to:

• Describe ways to communicate your intent by using turn signals and brake lights
• Discuss how to communicate your presence through the use of headlights, horn, warning devices, and eye contact
• Explain how eye contact techniques can help you communicate with bicyclists, pedestrians, and other drivers

Approximately 15 minutes

A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Users are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.

Upon successful completion of this online course, a certificate of completion will be available to download and print.
