Course Duration

  • 5 hours in-class training
  • Practical component – extinguishing of mock up fire

 

5 hours course covering OSSA Code of Practice for Fire Watch and Alberta legislation.  Upon completion of the course students will have a working knowledge of how to recognize fire hazards, types of sources of ignition and types of fires.  Recognition of different types of fires, fire extinguishers and what extinguishing media to be used for different types of fires.  Prevention of fires and protecting work environment.  Roles and responsibilities of the Fire Watch personnel
