• Fit Testing certification valid for:

• 2 years in AB and SK
• 1 year in BC

Prerequisite

• Air Purifying Respirators (APR) Awareness certification
• Clean shaven

Fit Testing with Smoke, Sweet, or Bitter Solution

Hands-on respirators training

• Review of respirators and functions
• Disassembling, assembling and proper cleaning procedures
• Proper inspections
• How to clean them properly
• Maintenance and storage
• When to replace cartridge or filter

Respirators carried by OSCTS for fit testing:

• 3M 7500 series, small, medium or large
• 3M 6200 series, small, medium or large
• North 7700-30 series, small, medium or large
• If students need to be fit tested into different types of respirators, they need to bring respirators with them, or they need to be supplied by employer to the training center for fit testing, they can be picked up afterwards

Students can bring their own respirators and be fit tested into them
