Corrective Action Training: Drug Use
This course reminds drivers to comply with the drug prohibitions in Section 392.4, not use or possess any substance that might affect safe driving, be aware of the exceptions to the prohibitions, and understand the consequences for violating the regulations.
After completing this course, drivers will be able to:
- Identify which drivers need to abide by the drug prohibitions in Section 392.4
- Explain the drug prohibitions for on-duty drivers
- List the two exceptions to the drug prohibitions
- List potential consequences of violating the drug prohibitions
- Introduction
- CMV drivers are restricted on drug use and possession.
- Drivers cannot use drugs that would prevent safe driving.
- Marijuana is prohibited even if legal by state law.
- You may transport drugs as part of your cargo.
- You are allowed to possess legally prescribed medication.
- But prescriptions could interfere with your medical exam.
- You’ll face serious consequences if you violate the prohibitions.

Testing conducted throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
Upon successful completion of this online course, a certificate of completion will be available for download and printing.
